Crown's savings-linked family takaful, with real published mechanics: the Education Family Plan takes minimum N10,000 monthly contributions over at least five years into a Participant Fund Account (PFA), pays the accumulated fund plus investment income at maturity, pays sum covered plus PFA balance on death, and allows up to five partial withdrawals of max 50 percent of the PFA after year two at two-year intervals. The Hajj and Umrah Family Takaful combines protection to age 70 with a Participant Investment Fund, minimum N10,000 monthly over at least two years, including a substitution option sending someone else on pilgrimage if the participant is disabled. The Nikkah (Wedding) Plan and Target Savings Family Takaful apply the same architecture to marriage costs and general goals.

CrusaderSterling Pensions, a long-established Lagos-based PFA, markets Fund VI through a dedicated Ethical Fund page inviting contributors who want pensions managed in line with their moral, faith and value convictions. It delivered the best non-interest Active pension return in Nigeria for 2024 at 20.63%, ahead of Trustfund (19.83%) and every other PFA, per Nairametrics' analysis of industry data against a category average of 16.25%. The page sets out eligibility plainly: Funds I-III members may move to Active Fund VI, Fund IV retirees to Retiree Fund VI, and Fund III members at retirement age may go straight to the Retiree variant. Switching is free at the member's request under PenCom rules.

Hilal's savings plans carry the most published NGN detail in Nigerian takaful. The Takaful Investment Plan (ages 18-60) offers systematic savings with Mudarabah profit sharing, unit-based multiple shares, flexible payment from monthly to single-premium, and death plus permanent disability cover. The Esusu Plan digitises Nigeria's traditional daily-savings culture: minimum N200 per day, N1,400 per week or N6,000 per month over 2-10 year tenors, with a 1 percent tabarru rate and part or pre-maturity withdrawal allowed. The Marriage Takaful Plan targets wedding costs over 1-5 year terms with part-withdrawal. The Hajj and Umrah Plan builds pilgrimage funds at a minimum N12,500 monthly or N150,000 annually over five years, with tabarru payable and investment profit shared.

Jaiz's long-term education savings plan within its family takaful shelf, marketed on the company's homepage as the way to secure your family's future with a Takaful Education Plan. Parents make regular contributions that build an education fund for a named child, with the mutual risk pool stepping in to keep the plan funded if the contributing parent dies before the term ends. It sits alongside the Comfort Family Plan and group products in the family takaful risk fund, whose assets are invested in Shariah-compliant instruments including sukuk, and participates in the family class surplus when one is declared, N58.15 million across family classes for 2022.

A child-education savings plan with embedded family protection. Parents contribute monthly, quarterly or yearly toward a target education fund; the plan pays a maturity benefit with accrued profit when the term ends, pays benefits to the family if the contributing parent dies before maturity so schooling is not interrupted, and allows partial withdrawals along the way for interim fees. An optional targeted-savings setting lets parents anchor contributions to a specific tuition goal. It is Noor's answer to conventional education endowment policies, built on the participant fund plus mutual risk pool takaful architecture.

Noor's long-term savings shelf: Prosave and Provest Family Takaful combine disciplined saving with family protection, paying benefits to loved ones if the participant dies before maturity, allowing partial withdrawals after three years and sharing any surplus. Flexip Family Takaful is the flexible variant, balancing long-term security with short-term liquidity and year-round protection. All three take monthly, quarterly or yearly contributions with an optional targeted-savings goal, making them usable as Shariah-compliant substitutes for endowment policies or medium-term investment plans, with the participant's savings invested under Mudaraba profit-sharing.

Premium Pension Limited, one of Nigeria's pioneer PFAs headquartered in Abuja, offers both Fund VI variants under PenCom's non-interest framework. Its standout result is on the retiree side: the Premium Pension Retiree Fund VI returned 18.54% in full-year 2024, the best retiree non-interest return of any PFA in Nigeria per Nairametrics' analysis of industry data, ahead of Access ARM (16.86%) and Stanbic IBTC (16.65%). The Active Fund VI returned 16.44%, just above the 16.25% industry average. Switching in is free at the member's request under PenCom's rules, with eligibility from Funds I-III (Active) and Fund IV (Retiree). Fund prices are published through Premium's self-service portal and app.

The savings dimension of Salam's family takaful: plans that combine protection with long-term personal savings, where part of each contribution is deposited into a participant savings account and invested, with returns shared on a pre-agreed Mudaraba ratio, and the balance goes to the mutual protection pool as tabarru. The participant or beneficiary receives financial benefits on death or tragedy, while the savings account accumulates for maturity, effectively a Shariah-compliant endowment alternative. Individual family takaful proposal forms are published, and plans are serviced through the SalamShield app, web portal and the Kano, Abuja and Lagos offices.

The non-interest RSA option from Nigeria's largest pension manager. Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers runs both Fund VI variants under PenCom's framework: an Active fund (up to 75% in Shariah-compliant variable income instruments) governed by a Wakala Bil-Istithmar arrangement, and a Retiree fund (maximum 10% variable income) applying Mudarabah principles. Zenith Pensions Custodian holds the assets. Published management fee is 1.6809% plus a ₦100 administrative charge. Full-year 2024 returns were 17.62% (Active) and 16.65% (Retiree) per Nairametrics' analysis of industry data, both above the 16.25% Active average. Any RSA holder can switch in free of charge once every 12 months via the MyPension portal, app or a branch form.

Trustfund Pensions, the Abuja-based PFA co-owned by Nigeria's labour movement and social partners, runs Fund VI for members who want Shariah-compliant pension management. Its published policy allocates a maximum of 55% of the portfolio to compliant variable income instruments, screened equities, infrastructure funds, private equity and hybrid funds, with the balance in non-interest instruments such as sukuk. Performance has been near the top of the category: the Active Fund VI returned 19.83% in full-year 2024, second only to CrusaderSterling's 20.63% among all PFAs per Nairametrics' analysis of industry data. Eligible RSA holders in Funds I-III switch in free on request; retirees use the Retiree variant.
